About Nishizawa — Our Story in Azumabashi
Nishizawa is a small junmai sake and honkaku shochu specialty store in Azumabashi, Sumida City, Tokyo. Rather than stocking everything, we value face-to-face relationships with breweries and carry only the bottles the owner truly stands behind.
Sake is the craft of its makers and the character of its region, distilled into a single bottle. We share that story with you, hoping to make an everyday cup a little richer.
A word from the owner
Makoto Nishizawa
I want this to be a shop that helps you find “today’s one bottle.” I taste and select everything we carry myself, and only line up bottles I can recommend with confidence. Ask me anything about sake or shochu, however small.
Why customers choose us
Only what we have tasted
Every bottle is tasted by the owner before it reaches the shelf — only the ones we can truly recommend.
Specialist knowledge
We explain the brewing, flavor and pairings of junmai sake and honkaku shochu in plain language.
Tailored to each person
We ask your taste, budget and the occasion, and choose a bottle together. First-timers most welcome.
